Shortly after that statement, Microsoft revealed it was joining Sony in raising prices on new, first-party games to $70. However, the $14.99 price point for Game Pass Ultimate likely won't last forever. While the biggest video streaming services have basically all gotten price hikes in the last year, Xbox Game Pass' price has held pretty firm for a while now. This will allow subscribers to share a subscription with up to four other friends or family members, and Microsoft began testing the new tier in multiple countries last year. One new feature that could be on the way is the Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family Plan. There's no word yet on what Xbox's potential alternative marketing promotion could be for Game Pass. It allowed new members to try out Xbox Game Pass for a month for just a buck, before renewing at the standard monthly subscription of $14.99 a month for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or $9.99 a month to subscribe for either PC or console. That’s important since Game Pass’s growth has been slower than Microsoft hoped – I can’t imagine why, since it’s the best subscription service out there right now, even if you only have a PC.The $1 trial has been a pillar of the Game Pass service for years. From the Xbox to rock-paperscissors, humans play games all the time. It’s a surefire way to boost subscriber numbers, and maybe even Xbox sales. CHAPTER TEN Dating Game Life is full of games. Assuming this scheme is expanded to the rest of the world, you’d be paying about $5 for everything you’re currently paying three times that price for. So far, the scheme is still unavailable in the US but has been undergoing testing in Colombia and the Republic of Ireland since 2022. Under this scheme, every month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate would be converted into 18 days of Game Pass Friends and Family, with piecemeal tiers getting only 12 days of the same scheme per month. It’s possible that it will be succeeded by the Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family scheme, which will allow subscribers to share a subscription with up to four friends or family members, though it’s limited to eight unique accounts over a calendar year. Without this hook, Microsoft will have to come up with an equally good pull for Game Pass, or risk losing potential customers for not just the subscription service, but Xbox in general.
